First-time Amazon Seller Maria, September 18, 2024June 2, 2025 I have been managing Amazon accounts, both vendor and seller, for almost a decade now but it was only this year when I started selling my own products. I manage my own account like how I manage all the accounts I handle. I go through the same process of checking day-to-day operations and resolving issues as they come. The only difference between managing other accounts and my own is the risk involved. I am risking my own money and a lot of my time to get my business off the ground. It can be scary especially with all the uncertainties but I’ve always been comfortable taking risks. If this doesn’t work, I will keep the learnings and move on. But if this works, can you imagine how this will impact my life? How exciting is that! So why did I decide to finally sell on Amazon? I have a financial goal in mind that I want to achieve in the next 5-7 years and in order to do that, I have to start generating more income from different sources. And since I already know the ins and outs of Amazon, it was a no-brainer. How’s it going so far? More money going out than coming in which I already expected. I launched 4 products so far and about to launch another 2 products by next month. So I will end the year with 6 products, and next year I will re-evaluate whether to continue selling those products or stop and start with new products. At this point, it’s all trial and error, see what works and what doesn’t work. My goal this year is to break-even which means the revenue I generate from Amazon should be enough to pay for all the expenses that come with selling on Amazon. You may ask, “why start with 6 products when you can start with 1 product and minimize your capital investment?” Good question. Because I believe in ‘FAIL FAST, FAIL OFTEN’, then apply everything I’ve learned and try again. Besides I haven’t received any complaints yet from the accounts that I handle so I must be doing something right after all. I will be posting more updates about my journey as an Amazon seller and the challenges I encounter as an Amazon consultant so stick around! Milestones
